A delicious annual celebration of the native apple. Everything apple, from growing and harvesting to juice and crumble. This event celebrates the apple in an entertaining, educative and delicious way and importantly demonstrates why it’s vital not to waste this fresh local fruit.
Each year we team up with National Trust Speke Hall to make sure all the delicious apples in their orchard do not go to waste! Whilst we’re there, we, with our partners, will be celebrating the apple by milling and pressing juice juices, creating and tasting heart-warming crumbles, and educating about food waste and growing tips, and sharing recipes.
Alchemic Kitchen is very grateful to the King’s Coronation Community Fund and the Heritage Fund for supporting Apple Day 2024. Our Apple Day was made possible with a little help from our friends; Taking Root, Friends of South Park, Speke Hall, Food For Thought Merseyside, friends of South Park, Norton Priory, Lotus Brook, Liverpool Food Growers Network, Ben Ruth and Katie Tonge.
Look out for details of our 2025 Apple Day and how you can get involved.
